Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32) · 1989–1994

The R32 GT-R revived a dormant nameplate and rewrote Japanese performance: a 2.6-litre twin-turbo straight-six with ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive and Super-HICAS four-wheel steering, built to homologate a Group A racer that dominated Japan and Australia. The V-Spec II — Brembo brakes, 17-inch BBS forged wheels, retuned active driveline — is the sharpest factory expression of the car the Australian press named Godzilla.

The one to have: V-Spec II (Feb 1994) — RB26DETT twin-turbo, ATTESA E-TS AWD, 17-in BBS forged wheels, Brembo brakes; roughly 1,306 built

Know the real one

BNR32 chassis code. Genuine Nismo homologation cars carry an 'RA' VIN suffix — 560 built (500 road, 60 race, Dec 1989–Mar 1990), all Gun Grey, ABS and rear wiper deleted, metal-wheel turbos.
V-Spec (Feb 1993) and V-Spec II (Feb 1994) add Brembo brakes, BBS forged wheels (16-in on V-Spec, 17x8JJ with 245/45R17 on V-Spec II) and a retuned ATTESA E-TS active driveline — badge, brakes and wheels are the tells.
The 276 hp rating is the Japanese industry cap; dyno figures routinely show 320+ hp at the flywheel from a healthy engine.
Rust in rear arches, strut tops and boot floor, plus cracked ceramic turbo exhaust wheels on hard-run cars, separate honest examples from cheap ones — verify a V-Spec badge against the wheels and calipers, not just paint.
