Audi RS6 Avant (C6) · 2008–2010

The C6 RS6 is Audi's first V10 super-estate: a 5.0-litre twin-turbo FSI engine from the R8/Gallardo V10 family, dropped into a quattro Avant that Audi never officially sold in North America. Its mix of 572 hp, all-weather traction and wagon practicality made it the definitive fast-estate, and grey-import scarcity now drives its collector demand.

The one to have: A sub-30k-mile Avant in factory paint on OEM 5-spoke 20s — or the run-out RS6 plus Avant. 5.0 twin-turbo V10, 572 hp, 6-speed ZF tiptronic, quattro. Unmodified, DRC intact, documented grey-import federalization.

Know the real one

Never officially sold in North America — every US car is a grey-market import (25-year or Show-and-Display), so provenance and federalization paperwork matter.
5.0 TFSI biturbo V10 (4,991 cc) shares its V-engine architecture with the Lamborghini Gallardo / Audi R8 V10 family (Audi describes it as derived from its 4.2 V8); runs twin Bosch MED9.1.2 ECUs as master/slave.
Avant vastly outnumbered the saloon (roughly 6,500 Avants of the ~8,000 planned); the 2010 run-out RS6 plus was limited to 500 cars, with the Dynamic Pack Plus derestricting to 189 mph.
Only offered with the 6-speed ZF tiptronic auto and quattro — no manual. Watch for tuned/remapped cars, tired DRC (Dynamic Ride Control) and cheap black aftermarket wheels replacing the factory 5-spoke 20s.
